Chicken Pox

It's not the first time I've had them, it's not even the second. It's the fifth (yes 5th) time I've had them. I am a medical mystery. The doctor told me that since I never get a severe case, my body won't build up an immunity like most people. Unfortunately that means I can keep getting chicken pox again and again. So I missed the Family Fun Fest at church, I've been banned from going to church tomorrow morning and to top it off I'm absolutely alone all weekend. My hubby is in Kentucky, the kids are at Grandma's house (#2 has chicken pox too but Grandma still took him and #3), and our roommate is working all weekend and staying as far away from me as possible.

I'm bored!

I've mowed my lawn, weed whacked, weeded my garden, played computer games, watched a movie, watched the Olympics, did some shopping online, ordered Chinese for dinner, and watched more Olympics. I guess my problem is I have no one here to talk to. But now I'm starting to really itch and am missing my hubby because there is just something about having him here that makes me feel better. Friday I'll pack the kids up and head down to Kentucky to spend Labor Day weekend with him. His birthday is next weekend so it will be nice to spend it with him. Maybe in my "house arrest" I can find a present for him online. :-)

  1. I also have had chicken pox 4 or 5 times thought it couldn't happen as I had quite bad as child. But must not have built up immunities against it. Good to know not only one. Thanks Elizabeth st Helens England.

  3. It all depends on if your body has built up an immunity to the chicken pox virus. I asked my doctor once about getting the chicken pox and shingles vaccines and he said they wouldn't work for me because they put so little of the virus into your blood stream. All it would do is bring on another round of the chicken pox virus, or start shingles in me earlier rather than later. In fact, since this post, my youngest had to get a booster for chicken pox because the doc didn't believe she actually had it, and her getting the booster shot brought on another round in me because I was exposed.
