Walk in His Ways

I came home last night from my Walk to Emmaus. It was an amazing experience. I can't go into too much detail because what happens at Emmaus stays at Emmaus. The theme was "Walk in His Ways" based on Philippians 3:12-14, "Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Some things I have been struggling with for a while now are the lies that I'm continually fed about everything and tend to believe, my past, the hurt and disappointment that I receive from others, and many other things. While I was there this weekend God worked in my heart to let go of my pain, anger, disappointment, fear, anxiety, all that stuff. I spent a good part of the weekend crying but it was the best thing for me. God moved in the lives of everyone there and I am so glad I was part of it.

God gave me a song while I was there. Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns was sung and it quickly became my theme song. Here is part of that song:

But the waves are calling out my name, And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me, time and time again,
"Girl, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

I couldn't make it through this song even once this weekend. I cried too much. Some were tears of pain and some were tears of joy at hearing the truth.

I learned that my family is the body of Chrst. He loves me unconditionally and shows me that love through the body. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to attend this walk. I can't wait to bless someone else by being a sponsor or being on team for another group. I also want to spread the love that I feel from God to everyone I come in contact with.
